MichalskiWagner is a Palermo based architecture studio founded in 2016 by Martha Michalski (DE, 1989) and Marco Wagner (IT, 1989) working between Palermo and Berlin.
Their work relies on the dialogue with local craftsmen, on the discovery of the potential available techniques, materials and tools to reinvent together construction procedures and applications. Norms are interpreted not as absolute, but as a suggested normality, to be understood and used as a tool leading to criteria based solutions.
Their projects are thought as prototypes or with an experimental approach, in close and emphatic cooperation with workers, friends and collaborators.
The studio is active together with local foundations and initiatives to empower the discussion about perspectives of participation in the urban development of the city of Palermo.
